Electronic Database Resources
The Kwekwe Polytechnic Library provides access to a wide range of electronic databases covering various academic disciplines. These databases offer access to scholarly journals, articles, e-books, and other digital resources essential for research and study.
On Campus Access
When you're on campus, you can access all library databases directly without login requirements:

On CampusAccess to over 200,000 e-books across all disciplines. Includes academic, professional, and reference titles.
JSTOR
On CampusArchive of academic journals, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. Essential for humanities and social sciences research.
ScienceDirect
On CampusLeading scientific database offering full-text articles from Elsevier journals and books in science, technology, and medicine.
IEEE Xplore

EBSCOhost Research

Off Campus Access
Access library databases from anywhere with your student/staff credentials. Follow these steps for remote access:
Connect to VPN
Download and connect to the Kwekwe Polytechnic VPN client to establish a secure connection to the campus network.
Download VPN ClientUse Your Credentials
Log in using your student/staff ID and password when prompted by the database authentication system.
Username: Your student/staff ID
Password: Your regular campus password
Access Databases
Once authenticated, you can access all library databases just as you would on campus. The connection remains active for 4 hours.

Database Usage Tips
Advanced Searching
Use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) and quotation marks for exact phrases to improve search results.
Save Searches
Create personal accounts within databases to save searches and set up email alerts for new content.
Download Limits
Be aware of download limits and copyright restrictions when downloading articles and chapters.
Citation Tools
Use built-in citation tools to export references in your preferred citation style (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
