Library Access & Membership
The Kwekwe Polytechnic Library is open to students, staff, and authorized users. Access to library resources and facilities is governed by specific policies and procedures.
Who Can Access the Library?
Students
- All registered Kwekwe Polytechnic students
- Valid student ID required for entry
- Full access to all library facilities
- Borrowing privileges based on program level
Staff & Faculty
- All teaching and administrative staff
- Staff ID required for access
- Extended borrowing privileges
- Access to faculty resources
External Users
- Alumni with valid alumni card
- Researchers with institutional affiliation
- Guest users (day access only)
- Special permission required
Library Membership
Registration Process
- Complete library registration form
- Present valid identification
- Receive library card/borrowing privileges
- Attend library orientation (mandatory for new users)
Required Documents
- Students: Valid student ID + registration proof
- Staff: Staff ID + appointment letter
- External: Valid ID + letter of introduction
Library Rules & Regulations
General Conduct
- Maintain silence in designated quiet areas
- No food or drinks in the library
- Mobile phones must be on silent mode
- Respect library property and other users
- Follow dress code requirements
Borrowing Policies
- Books: 2 weeks (students), 4 weeks (staff)
- Journals: Library use only
- Reference materials: Library use only
- Renewals: Maximum of 2 times
- Overdue fines: $0.50 per day
